Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT seeks a Unit Receptionist/Patient Care Technician for the ICU to support nursing staff and assist with patient activities. The role includes front desk duties, basic patient care, and ADL assistance under supervision.

The position requires a High School diploma and certifications (CNA/EMT-B or RN clinical experience) with CPR and NVCIT within 3 months of hire. Night shift, 32 hours weekly. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical terminology/keyboard skills preferred.
• CNA certification or EMT-B or RN clinical experience required.
• AHA CPR certification required within 3 months of hire.
• NVCIT certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Meets the physical demands of the position.
• Demonstrates ability to cope with and function under stress.
• Meets skill certification requirements for designated units.
• Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
• Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
• Assist the nurse in restraining and removing restraints.
• Completes all necessary forms, requisitions, communications and special projects as assigned. Accurately transcribes physician’s orders (when applicable).
• Assists patients and nurses as necessary with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care.
