Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a Unit Coordinator for a 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM shift with every other weekend. The role provides administrative and operational support to a clinical unit, acting as a central contact for patient-centered care and collaboration among physicians, nurses, and care partners.

The incumbent will manage patient records, coordinate with care teams, handle communication systems, and maintain a respectful, efficient unit while safeguarding confidentiality and privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service and intrapersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, provides directions and information.
• Maintains patient records and ensures accuracy and confidentiality.
• Coordinates with nurses, physicians and support staff for smooth unit operations.
• Manages communication systems (phone, pagers, Vocera) to support the health care team.
• Ensures a respectful, efficient environment on the clinical unit.
