Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a float pool role at a large Level 1 trauma teaching facility. Requires VT or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and travel nursing background. CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities include ICU coverage with overflow to Neuro, SICU, and ED areas; IV starts, titrating drips, and vent care. Night shift, 36 hours weekly, frequent weekends and holidays. Travel-friendly with housing allowances and reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active VT or compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience in a large teaching facility (500+ beds) and Trauma Level 1.
• Hemodynamic device experience and familiarity with CRRT/IABP/ECMO.
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years.
• Must provide complete work history detailing bed count, EMR, and facility type.

Responsibilities

• Float pool mainly in Medical ICU with overflow to Neuro ICU.
• Floating to SICU, Miller 3/4, ED boarders, and surge areas as needed.
• Care for post cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma, neurosurgery patients.
• Start IVs, manage multiple titrating drips, and ventilator support.
• Experience with multi-system disease and critical care devices.
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 36 hours/week.
• Must work 2 of 4 holidays; minimal block scheduling.
• Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays.
• Reliable vehicle due to limited public transport.
