Job summary

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) ICU Monitor Technician role involves continuous monitoring of patient telemetry, alarms, and vitals in a critical-care setting. You will promptly alert nursing staff and support basic bedside care while ensuring equipment functions and log accuracy.

Qualified candidates may include EKG Monitor Techs, RNs, LPNs, or CNAs with appropriate ACLS or telemetry training.

Qualifications

• Written arrhythmia exam with 80% or better required.
• Certified EKG Monitor Tech credential preferred.
• RN or Respiratory Therapist must have ACLS and pass Relias arrhythmia with 100%.
• LPN/CNA must pass EKG Telemetry or AACN telemetry course with 80%+.
• Annual Relias arrhythmia exam with 100% by all Monitor Techs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate and monitor telemetry/monitoring equipment.
• Observe ECG rhythms and arterial pressures, escalate abnormalities promptly.
• Check monitor leads, alarms, patient positioning, and equipment function.
• Assist with routine ICU tasks: transport to imaging/labs, check alarms, ensure bed alarms work.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation of monitoring data.

As an ICU Monitor Technician at HRRMC, you will play a vital role in our ICU/critical-care team by continuously monitoring patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and other telemetry data. You will alert nursing staff, participate in turning and basic bedside care support, ensure proper function of monitoring equipment, and maintain accurate logs/documentation.

Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successfully pass written arrhythmia exam with score of 80% or better.
• Or Certified EKG Monitor Tech
• Or RN’s and Respiratory Therapist must have ACLS and successfully pass arrhythmia exam in Relias with score of 100%.

• Or LPN and CNA’s successfully pass EKG Telemetry course with exam score of 80% or pass the AACN telemetry online course (to obtain certificate online, score must be 80%).
• A yearly Relias arrhythmia exam must be completed with a 100% score by all Monitor Techs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintain current CPR or BLS certification.
