Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an advanced practice provider to join the ICU team in Needham, MA. The role involves managing ICU patients, assisting in the operating room, and collaborating with surgeons and hospitalists on the medical-surgical floors.

Reporting to the Medical Director of the ICU and the Chair of Surgery, the APP will assess, admit, stabilize and manage patients under intensivist direction, and provide post-operative care with daily rounds and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field and completion of a 2-year PA or surgical NP program.
• Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant license.
• 1 year postgraduate experience as surgical NP/PA preferred.
• Strong analytical and interpretative skills to synthesize patient data and plan treatment.
• Experience with computer systems including MS Office and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-admission history and physical examinations.
• Coordinate treatment plans and document patient progress.
• Review lab results and diagnostic tests; interpret findings.
• Assist in operative procedures as first/second assistant.
• Provide postoperative care and ICU admission management.
• Place orders in EMR and transcribe perioperative orders.
