Job summary

Mercy Health's Clermont Hospital seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) for night shifts in the PCU. This role delivers basic patient care under RN supervision, supports bedding, hygiene, mobility, and vital signs documentation.

You'll work 24 hours weekly (1900-0700), participate in hand-offs, and use EPIC EHR training preferred. Strong communication and proactive problem-solving are valued in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire (must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• Successful completion of nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA/state tests OR completion of a nursing program with clinical nursing course and rotation OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene, mobility support, and vital signs
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse, reporting changes and concerns
• Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff
• Accurately document patient care in the EHR and other systems as applicable
• Participate in hand-off/reporting of relevant information at shift start and end
• Assist with patient transfers using safe techniques and encourage patient independence
• Individualize care based on patient preferences and needs
