Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (ICU Stepdown). You will support high-acuity pulmonology and cardiac patients under RN supervision and work a 7:00am–7:30pm shift with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will coordinate with care teams to provide patient comfort, monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and ensure clean, welcoming rooms while pursuing educational advancement and skills development offered by Cleveland Clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required within new hire period.
• Nursing students: BLS certification through the AHA or American Red Cross upon hire.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, dressing changes and monitoring devices.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.
