Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a CVU/ICU Step Down Registered Nurse to collaborate with the health care team and deliver comprehensive patient care. The role entails assessing and coordinating treatment plans, responding to Code Blue, and supporting patient families.

Qualified candidates will have ADN or higher, active RN license in Florida, BLS and ACLS certifications, and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or higher).
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or hold an active multi-state license.
• Current AHA/Red Cross BLS Health Care Provider certification.
• Current AHA/Red Cross ACLS Health Care Provider certification.
• At least 1 year of Acute Care/Hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care in CVU/ICU Step Down.
• Respond to Code Blue and initiate protocol as needed.
• Manage patient flow including exam prep, nursing care, testing, and admissions.
• Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patient records with tests and results.
• Administer medications as ordered by physicians.
• Check rooms daily for supplies and respond to calls/triage when needed.
