Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois (IL) and eligible to practice.
• Current BLS/CPR and/or other unit-specific certifications.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience as an RN.
• Experience working on a float/float-team.
• Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and updates the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessment.
• Shares information and collaborates with the health care team to promote effective patient care.
• Verifies and implements orders from physicians and documents in the EMR.
• Engages patients and families to develop an appropriate educational plan.
• Recognizes symptoms, establishes priorities, and responds to changing needs.
• Delegate tasks per the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and support staff accordingly.
• Advocates for patients, families, and the nursing profession.
• Collaborates with nurses to provide learning experiences for staff and students.
• AssumesCharge Nurse role when assigned and uses available resources.
• Participates in professional development and special projects.
