Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an experienced RN supervisor to lead care at the point of care within a unit. You will coordinate, delegate, and supervise nursing interventions with licensed staff and patient care technicians to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Requirements include a current RN license, BSN for magnet facilities, and 1 year of RN experience (or 2 years as an LPN in acute care). ICU/supervisor experience is preferred and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BSN required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities.
• 1 year of relevant RN experience in a hospital setting or 2 years as an LPN in acute care.
• ICU/Supervisor experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications, starts IVs, and discharges patients with the healthcare team.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines to support evidence-based practice.
• Manages conflict on assigned shifts and collaborates with unit leadership as needed.
• Collaborates with patient quality, safety, and experience leadership to promote safety and experience processes.
• Ensures scheduling, staffing, and supplies support daily clinical operations on the unit.
