Job summary

UNC Health Johnston ICU is seeking a qualified ICU nurse to join our 16-bed unit in Smithfield, NC. You will provide competent nursing care, coordinate patient care, and work closely with the Nurse Manager/Director to ensure high standards of care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include education, care evaluation, implementation of care plans, leadership support, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certified.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs, attend education programs, assess readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care: participate in evaluation of patient care and plan revisions.
• Implementation: provide care for patients with complex needs and coordinate with the team.
• Leadership: contribute to unit goals and professional growth.
• Patient Assessment: assess data, plan care, and anticipate discharge needs.
• Planning: collaborate with patient/family on care plans and resources.
• Research: engage with current journals and bring ideas to the team.
