Job summary

Texas Health HEB in Bedford, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on a full-time day shift (36 hours weekly, 3-12 hour shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm). The unit is an 18-bed Medical-Surgical ICU with Trauma and Neurosurgical care, offering growth, strong collaboration, and comprehensive benefits.

Required: ADN or Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred), RN license upon hire, BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI within specified timelines, and 1 year of clinical nursing experience with ICU preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred.
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required.
• CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• ACLS - within 90 days required.
• NIHSS - within 60 days of hire.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire.
• 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
• Current ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
