Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role requires an ADN or nursing diploma with RN licensure at hire, and ACLS/CPI within specified timelines. ICU experience and NIHSS training are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and ensuring safety and continuity of care. With opportunities for advancement, the unit emphasizes education, teamwork, and family-like collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or nursing diploma required; BSN preferred.
• RN license required at hire.
• CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
• BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of RN experience or completion of an RN residency program required.
• 1 year ICU experience strongly preferred.
• NIHSS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
