Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking an experienced ICU RN to provide care for critically ill patients in a 267-bed acute care facility with advanced stroke and cancer services. Full-time daytime or nighttime shifts with rotating weekends, shadow shift required prior to hire.

Responsibilities include autonomous clinical assessments, family advocacy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to maintain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 1 year recent acute care experience in ICU/CVICU/ER (PCU/IMCU considered with 2 years)
• Florida RN license or approved multistate compact license (60 days to obtain Florida license if relocating)
• BLS within 30 days of employment start
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient and family advocate; maintain confidentiality
• Provide instruction on medications, treatment plans, and care needs
• Deliver high-focus, critical care with attention to continuous improvement
• Make autonomous clinical assessments and manage patient care
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain documentation
• Shadow shift required prior to hire (day or night depending on shift preference)
