Job summary

Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center MICU is a 29-bed unit caring for high-acuity patients. This RN role involves coordinating comprehensive nursing care, bedside procedures, and life-support therapies, with 3 12-hour night shifts per week and weekend/holiday requirements.

The unit emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and advanced critical care practice; a sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants. CMC is Atrium Health's flagship hospital and an AACN Beacon Award recipient.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience; this position is not for new graduates.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient critical care RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum using evidence-based practice.
