Job summary

Ascension in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Nights full-time role in the Respiratory Therapy Critical Care department. You will formulate and evaluate respiratory care plans, administer advanced modalities, and document patient status while coordinating care with the team.

This role requires Indiana RTC licensure, BLS within 30 days, NBRC RRT credential within 12 months, and preferred ALS/PALS.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from Indiana required.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential within 12 months of hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, execute, and evaluate individualized respiratory care protocols.
• Manage and oversee the application of advanced respiratory modalities and specialized equipment.
• Document, record, and communicate patient status, assessing treatment efficacy relative to outcomes.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding conditions and facilitate referrals to external resources.
• Participate in the emergency resuscitation team and respond to critical code notifications.

Education

Associate degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience
