Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) for Dallas Medical Center - Farmers Branch, Texas. This per diem role features 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am) and requires critical care expertise to monitor and care for life-threatening conditions.

Responsibilities include assessments, care plan development, and use of advanced equipment. You will collaborate with the medical team, administer meds and fluids, and support patients' families while ensuring infection

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients
