Prime Healthcare Services seeks an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, TX. This per diem role involves day shifts and 12-hour shifts, supporting critically ill patients with advanced ICU care and rapid decision-making in a high-acuity environment.

The ICU RN will monitor patients, administer medications and fluids, operate life-support equipment, and communicate with the healthcare team and families to ensure optimal care plans are followed.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments and developing care plans.
• Use advanced equipment to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters.
• Safely administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing.
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators and dialysis machines.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients’ families; liaise with the medical team.
• Document all aspects of patient care and maintain infection control and safety protocols.

Location:Dallas Medical Center - Farmers Branch, Texas

We are seeking an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse, also referred to as an ICU RN, Intensive Care Nurse or Intensive Care Unit RN. The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ICU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decisions, and will be compassionate to all patients. An ICU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions

• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters

• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions

• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors

• Provide emotional support and education to patients’ families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided

• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
