Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Specialty Unit ICU on nights, full-time, with weekend and holiday rotation.

You will apply nursing process, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; provide patient/family teaching; collaborate with physicians; ensure privacy.

Minimum one year in acute care; current state RN license; BLS; ACLS; CCU preferred; BSN preferred; CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within ICU scope and direct patient/family teaching.
• Guide and supervise nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition, tests, and symptoms.
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality and respond quickly to changes in condition.
