Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet in Joliet, Illinois, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the ICU/Neuro ICU team cross-trained to CVICU. This full-time night position offers a 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM schedule and a competitive compensation range.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct patient care within the scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Direct and accountable for care given to assigned patients; communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition, hemodynamic monitoring, and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and treatment response while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
