Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking an ICU RN to join our fast-paced, collaborative team. The unit emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient advocacy, and top-of-licensure care while supporting professional growth and safety.

Applicants must hold an RN license in the state of practice; an Associate's Degree in Nursing is required and a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. ACLS, PALS, BCLS, and Handle with Care are valued certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration and other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides education appropriate to age and culture.
• Acts as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
