Job summary

ChristianaCare, a major healthcare system in Delaware, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Wilmington Intensive Care Unit (WICU). The role is 36 hours per week with Day and Night shift rotations, serving 3–4 patients per shift and collaborating with hospitalists and a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a BSN and RN license, with 2 years of RN experience; telemetry experience is a plus. BLS is required and ACLS is preferred, with commitment to obtain ACLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years from date of hire.
• Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience; telemetry experience a plus.
• BLS required.
• ACLS preferred; commitment to obtaining ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Progressive Care or Gerontology Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and emotional status and educate patients/families.
• Care for 3–4 medical or surgical patients per shift with the multidisciplinary team.
• Plan nursing care to promote wellness and provide disease information.
• Monitor patients, manage emergencies, and provide ongoing support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and specialty consultants within a relationship‑based care model.
