Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Wilmington Intensive Care Unit (WICU) is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week with Day/Night shift rotations, weekends and holidays per department guidelines. Typical shifts are 7pm-7am and 7am-7pm.

You will collaborate with hospitalists and the care team to deliver patient-centered care and family education. You will oversee a team of 3–4 patients per shift, plan nursing care to promote wellness, monitor for emergencies, and support patients and families through

Qualifications

• BSN required; commitment to obtaining BSN within three years from date of hire.
• Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience; telemetry experience a plus.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred with commitment to obtaining ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Progressive Care or Gerontology Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with hospitalists, specialty consultants and the transitional nursing staff.
• Assess patient physical and emotional status, health history and practices.
• Educate patients and families about disease and treatment.
• Plan care to promote wellness and support families.
• Monitor patients, manage emergencies and provide ongoing support.
