Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care in the ICU using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will supervise and educate patient/family and nursing staff while maintaining standards of care and patient confidentiality.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS and ACLS on hire, with CC RN/BSN preferred; critical care experience strongly favored.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the ICU and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results and symptomatology.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment, while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Education

Current and valid state RN License.

Current BLS certificate upon hire

Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
