Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license required.
• BLS certificate required at hire and maintained.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year as staff RN in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Directly responsible and accountable for care given to assigned patients.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in patient condition including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results, abnormal results, and symptoms.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
