Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health seeks an RN Clinical Instructor - ACE Preceptor to guide nursing students through clinical rotations in ICU/PCU. You will lead hands-on instruction, model expert nursing practice, and provide targeted feedback to foster growth while delivering direct patient care.

You will collaborate with university faculty and CHI St. Alexius Health team, attending required meetings and maintaining currency in simulation and clinical practices.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN degree required.
• Minimum two years of bedside nursing experience in ICU/PCU.
• Current ND RN license and BLS certification.
• Formal preceptor training or proven preceptor experience.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of advanced nursing skills and clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and orient University of Mary nursing students to the practice setting with hospitality.
• Model professional nursing practice as a clinical expert, mentor, and leader for students and CHI St. Alexius Health.
• Provide hands-on practice experiences in Medical Surgical Acute care to foster critical thinking.
• Provide on-site clinical instruction for two students while managing a department patient care assignment.
• Offer regular verbal and written feedback on student performance to faculty.
• Attend nursing division meetings and ongoing education to stay current with practices.
