Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school.
• 3+ years of related hospital experience.
• Current JPS recognized BLS, ACLS, and EKG required in Critical Care Division and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or reciprocity approved.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a clinical resource for staff within the Critical Care Division and oversees educational needs including in-service, competencies, bedside and classroom training.
• Assigns and follows up with preceptors for new employees to ensure high quality patient care.
• Facilitates Skills Fairs for Critical Care nurses and techs.
• Plans and develops content, coordinates and evaluates educational needs for each Critical Care unit.
• Assists in addressing areas of concern with action plans and preventive measures to improve quality outcomes.
• Participates in hospital-wide committees as Critical Care subject matter expert.
