Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support the Medical ICU team on a 7a-7p shift. Under RN supervision, you perform routine patient care tasks and monitor health status.

No experience is required; HS diploma or GED is required, and you must hold a current BLS from the American Heart Association along with CPCT/PCTC/AUA certification. You will assist with admissions, transports and daily care.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required.
• CPCT OR PCTC OR Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, monitors patient health status and implements the plan of care.
• Takes and records blood pressures, temperatures, pulse, and weights; performs blood glucose monitoring.
• Sets up and discontinues telemetry monitoring; collects specimens as directed.
• Applies sterile dressings and assists with wound care; performs stomal irrigation as directed.
• Provides oral suctioning and basic nursing procedures; reports changes to RN.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers; transports patients as needed.
