Job summary

University Hospitals’ Portage Medical Center is seeking a PCNA/Clinical Admin Assistant to support the ICU team and deliver compassionate, high‑quality care for acute patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Shift: Evenings, 3-11:30pm. The role includes basic patient care tasks, clerical support, and onboarding new team members, with PHI security and strict compliance to UH policies.

Qualifications

• Basic patient care skills (preferred).
• Effective communication with patients and families (required).
• Ability to organize changing work assignments (required).
• Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads (required).
• Basic computer skills (required).
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Exposure to medical terminology (preferred).
• PHI privacy compliance knowledge (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN.
• Provides compassionate interactions with patients, families, and peers.
• Follows evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Maintains patient records in written and/or electronic format.
• Orders supplies for the department as directed by the nurse manager.
• Assists with unit communication and operations.
• Onboards and trains new team members.
