Job summary

University Hospitals Tripoint Medical Center in Kentucky is seeking a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) to provide compassionate patient care and clerical support under the RN. PCNAs perform ADLs, monitor vital signs, I&O, ECGs where applicable, hygiene, and assist with patient data collection and charting.

Shifts may include Emergency Department, Surgical/Telemetry, Medical/Telemetry, ICU and Rehab, with Day 7a–7p or Night 7p–7a options.

Qualifications

• The PCNA completes patient care activities and provides clerical support as delegated by the RN.
• ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, hygiene and venipuncture duties where applicable.
• Assists with data collection and reporting, maintains patient records (written/electronic).

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN.
• Demonstrates compassionate interactions with patients, families, and peers.
• Follows evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive outcomes.
• Provides a safe environment in patient rooms and on unit.
• Supports stocking and ordering of supplies for patient care.
• Assists with unit communication.
• Onboards and trains new team members.
