Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to join the ICU team. Under RN/LPN supervision, you’ll assist in patient care, record vitals, help with meals and hygiene, and perform clerical tasks as part of a fast-paced unit.

Advancement paths to PCT are available. Training includes a 175-hour program, BLS within 1 month, and competencies within 3 months. We welcome candidates with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/CPTC certification, enrollment in a healthcare career program, or current Mercy co-worker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs in the electronic medical record.
• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, toileting, ambulation, and transport.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• PCA duties include general patient care and support as part of the care team.
• PCT duties include phlebotomy, enteral feedings, wound care, IV/Foley removal, and tracheostomy care.
