Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to join the Surgical & Orthopedic Unit. Working under an RN or LPN, you will assist with patient care, monitor vitals, help with meals and hygiene, and support mobility in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

We offer a PCA Training Program (175 hours or completion within 90 days), BLS within 1 month, and a career ladder from PCA to PCT. Full-time days include a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• Competencies completed within 3 months of hire.
• Education: HS diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs in the EMR.
• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, toileting, ambulation and transport.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• Phlebotomy and blood cultures (PCT duties).
• Enteral feedings, wound care, IV/Foley removal.
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning.
