Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) in this position provides activities of daily living and a range of care that contributes to the Veteran's treatment plan, recovery, and wellness under the direction of a licensed health care provider. The NA may perform these duties in outpatient, inpatient, home or Community Living Center (CLC), acute, sub-acute settings.

You will document care, monitor glucose readings, respond to changes, and participate in treatment planning and team meetings.

Qualifications

• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be used to qualify for Federal employment.
• Experience assisting in nursing care under supervision by a Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Ability to communicate orally with patients, families, and the care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the full range of nursing care under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care, monitor observations, and document changes.
• Participate in Treatment Planning Meetings and orient new staff.
