Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is seeking a nursing assistant to support Registered Nurses in the MICU/CCU unit. Tasks include bedside care, vital signs, and assisting with admissions and discharge under supervision.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited nursing program, completion of medical-surgical rotations, and current BLS certification. This is a part-time evening position within Dearborn, MI, offering a collaborative environment and opportunities to participate in patient care

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and attending an accredited school of registered nursing.
• May be enrolled in a BSN or ADN program.
• ADN graduates must sign a BSN completion agreement upon hire/placement.
• RN from another state awaiting licensure or NCLEX results.
• Transcripts must be provided at hire or review.
• Evidence of adult medical-surgical rotations is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine bedside nursing activities: bathing, grooming, ambulating and turning patients.
• Assists in catheterizations, suctioning, wound care and basic procedures.
• Takes vital signs and records intake and output.
• Applies and changes dressings with proper technique.
• Communicates patient status and changes to nursing staff.
• Assists in admitting, transferring and discharging patients.
