Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada, seeks an ICU Clinical Supervisor RN to join the night-shift ICU team. The role is full-time (36 hours per week) and blends direct patient care with leadership, including staff disciplinary actions and hiring decisions.

Responsibilities include communicating with physicians and the Nurse Manager about patient condition changes, and rapidly responding to changes in treatment or status while maintaining high standards of care and safety.

Qualifications

• Current NV State Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years' nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications as appropriate for department specific.
• Specialty Certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred or enrolled in an accredited program within one year of employment or transfer into supervisor role.

Responsibilities

• Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.
• Competent in the care of patients within the specialty area.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.

Education

NV State Registered Nurse Licensure

Bachelor's in Nursing preferred or enrolled in an accredited program within one year
