Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center is seeking an ICU Clinical Supervisor RN. This full-time role covers 36 hours per week on the ICU unit with a night shift, providing both direct patient care and supervision.

You will participate in hiring, disciplinary actions and communications with physicians and staff to ensure timely and effective patient care. The responsibilities include teaching plans, ongoing patient assessment, pain management education for patients and families, and daily plan revisions

Qualifications

• Current NV State Registered Nurse Licensure.
• A minimum of 3 years' nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification as appropriate for department specific.
• Specialty Certification preferred.
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred or enrolled in an accredited program within one-year of employment or transfer into supervisor role.

Responsibilities

• Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate
• Competent in the care of patients within the specialty area.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
