Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Three years RN experience, including two in an appropriate area.
• Nursing management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Current RN license; nursing specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees 24-hour management of a patient care unit/unit/service.
• Directs staffing, policy implementation, and budgetary control.
• Manages HR activities: interviewing, hiring, coaching, performance planning.
• Plans and monitors unit budgets with Nursing Director.
• Develops quality indicators and drives performance improvement.
• Ensures age-appropriate care and staff education.
• Leads and evaluates staff education and research activities.
• Collaborates with Unit Medical Director on care standards.
• Assists with long-term and short-term project planning.
• Sets unit goals and yearly performance objectives.
