Job summary

Prisma Health's Baptist Hospital ICU Medical unit seeks an experienced Nurse Manager II to lead a 50+ person care team, directing patient care, staffing, and unit budget management.

You will develop policies with the Chief Nursing Officer and Unit Medical Director, coach staff, oversee education and research, and drive quality indicators and performance improvement. This leadership role is based in Columbia, South Carolina.

Qualifications

• Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Experience - Three (3) years RN experience, including two (2) years in appropriate area.
• Nursing Management/Supervisory experience preferred.
• Holds a current RN license recognized by the state.
• In lieu of BSN, a nursing diploma or ADN may be considered with agreement to enroll in BSN/MSN within four years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of patient care for the assigned unit/services and ensure quality of care.
• Develop, analyze, monitor and revise staffing patterns to meet patient needs.
• Plans and monitors annual capital, operational and personnel budgets; prepares budget worksheets.
• Coaches, directs, supports and evaluates staff education and research activities.
• Develops quality indicators with the Unit Medical Director and monitors performance improvement.
• Ensures staff education and training to meet age-specific needs of populations served.
• Identifies and evaluates long- and short-term projects for patient or organizational needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing
