Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator for the ICU at Kings Mills Hospital. The Lead RN/Charge Nurse coordinates patient care on the unit, collaborates with the Clinical Manager, and leads nursing staff to achieve high-quality patient outcomes and efficient operations.

You will oversee staffing, guide clinical practice, and support a culture of safety and teamwork across disciplines, while mentoring staff and ensuring adherence to policies and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• RN license in state of practice (or Compact).
• Certifications may be unit-specific (pALS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Adjusts schedule and patient assignments to reflect acuity and resources.
• Guides staff, provides clinical support, and oversees unit in the absence of the leader.
• Maintains safety and infection control; uses resources and equipment appropriately.
• Communicates with patients and families about nursing interventions and care plans.
• Rounds on patients to evaluate safety, quality and experience.
• Serves as a resource to staff, patients and families for effective communication.
• Acts as a clinical resource and may serve as a preceptor.
• Collaborates across disciplines to ensure care coordination and smooth transitions.
• Resolves operational problems with other departments.
• Participates in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
• Manages admission, transfer and discharge processes.
