Job summary

Mary Washington Hospital is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The RN will collaborate with the healthcare team, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using evidence-based practice.

The role requires an RN license valid in Virginia (or a compact state), a BSN is preferred, BLS, NIHSS at hire, and at least 2 years of recent acute care experience. Additional certifications may be required by unit. EOЕ policy applies.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with RN license (Virginia or compact state).
• BSN preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required at hire.
• 2 years of recent RN acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and teamwork.
• Coordinate patient/family involvement in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care to health team members.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and departmental committees.
• Provide education to patients and caregivers about the plan of care.
• Serve as case manager when assigned and maintain unit productivity.
