Job summary

Atrium Health Mercy in Charlotte, NC seeks a Master’s prepared nurse to apply clinical expertise in evidence-based nursing within a specialty area and function as a clinical expert, educator, system thinker, change agent, and innovator.

The role includes teaching in ICU and progressive care units, curriculum development, and program evaluation, with licensure as an RN and ongoing education requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's in nursing, Nursing Education or Health Care Administration required.
• Two years of teaching experience preferred. Minimum 3 years clinical experience as a RN in practice area required.
• Critical care experience required; includes coverage of education in ICU and progressive care units.
• Certification in the appropriate practice area required within 1 year of eligibility for certification exam.
• Life Support Instructor Certification may be required depending on patient population needs.
• Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Practitioner in the state of work; or National License Compact requirements.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, curriculum and program development, program evaluation, and self-learning modules.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AV equipment; evidence of job-specific competencies.
• Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse manager.
