Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient-care area may be required.
• Experience level varies by RN Career Direct Care Pathway level I–IV.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses nursing judgment to adapt the plan to patient needs.
• Manages patient assignment and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Develops educational plans for patients and families.
• Supports informed decisions and advance directives.
• Continuously revises care plans with changes in health status.
• Develops discharge plans and coordinates community resources.
• Mentors new staff and facilitates transitions.
• Precepts and guides departmental staff.
• Engages in professional development and participates in department committees.
