Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Medical Intensive Care Unit on full-night shifts. You will assist with plan of care, monitor patient status, and help with daily living activities under nurse supervision.

This role supports critically ill patients in a 36-hour weekly schedule, with a focus on safety and high-quality patient care. Strong preparation in BCLS/CPI and approved PCT or CNA training is required on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Acute experience preferred.
• TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP and NCCT or THR approved program required upon hire.
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent required upon hire.
• Nursing student who completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree required upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active certification required upon hire.
• BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training within 90 days upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Provides and revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
