Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, TX, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on night shifts. The 18-bed unit operates with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, emphasizing teamwork, safety, and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver family-centered, evidence-based critical care. Requires 1–2 years in critical care and TX RN licensure, with BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–2 years of critical care experience.
• RN license and BLS certification.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to comply with the Texas Nursing Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed nursing assessments and develop/adjust care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and family to deliver coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
• Document patient responses, progress, and learning needs in the EMR.
• Ensure safety, quality, and adherence to unit protocols and standards.
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to care planning.
