Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for ICU nights. The RN will provide direct patient care in a high-acuity environment, utilizing critical care skills and the nursing process to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires KS RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC verification within 6 months of hire. Minimum 6 months to 1 year Med/Surg experience; 3–5 years ICU experience preferred. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed in Kansas as RN in good standing; BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC verification within 6 months of hire.
• Six months to one year Med/Surg experience required; ICU experience preferred.
• Ability to read cardiac rhythms and interpret ACLS standards within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care in ICU using the nursing process to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Monitor and coordinate care, including telemetry patients; communicate with physicians and staff.
• Adhere to CMS guidelines and safety protocols, including medication administration with '6 rights'.
• Provide patient education and begin discharge planning at admission.
• Lead code blue responses per ACLS/PALS protocols when needed.
