Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Medical ICU Patient Care Assistant for the Night shift (7:00pm to 7:30am). You will support a diverse, high-acuity patient population including obstetrics, liver failure, sepsis, and post-surgical care.

The role emphasizes routine patient care, data collection, documentation, and collaboration with licensed staff. Requires CNA, BLS, and ECG interpretation training; weekend/holiday rotation applies; benefits include night shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• CNA license in state of practice required for new hires.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; knowledge of medical terminology.
• ECG interpretation course or on-the-job training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic hygiene.
• Collect vital signs and data; document in medical records; assist in transporting specimens.
• Recognize and report changes in health status to licensed professional.
• Perform delegated procedures (blood draws, Foley removal, EKGs) under supervision.
• Provide receptionist/clerical support to ensure department efficiency.
• Maintain patient records, charts, and supplies; assist with orders and entry.
• Monitor supplies and equipment; ensure availability and condition.
• Assist with patient transport and OR turnover as needed.
• Work under supervision in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service.
