Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Health Care Technician to support licensed nursing staff and assist with personal care and hygiene for a patient group. The role involves communicating with multiple departments, visitors, and patients, and serving as a liaison on the unit.

Under RN direction, the HCT helps with supplies, data collection, vital signs, and daily living activities. The position may include float duties and sitter responsibilities as needed within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 30 days from hire date (AHA).
• Completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program or CNA coursework within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supplies on the unit and manage equipment, stocking and charting as directed.
• Collect patient data and ensure accurate documentation under RN supervision.
• Demonstrate competency in vitals, glucose monitoring, intake/output measurements.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and prepare for transport.
• Float within hospital and provide sitter duties when needed.
