Job summary

UC San Diego seeks a Respiratory Therapist to administer humidity and aerosol therapy, lung inflation, and secretion clearance. You will monitor patients on ventilatory support and perform related pharmacological administration in ICU, ER, and floor care areas.

Requires RRT, California RCP license, and BLS/PALS within 6 months of hire, with strong communication and independent work abilities to support departmental goals.

Qualifications

• Two (2) year advance practice RT Education Program/AS Degree.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by California.

Responsibilities

• Administers general Respiratory Therapy procedures including humidity and aerosol therapy, lung inflation maneuvers, and pulmonary secretion clearance.
• Initiates and monitors patients on continuous ventilatory support and administers pharmacological agents.
• Performs invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques in ICU, ER, and floor care areas.
• Maintains adherence to department policies and participates in education activities.
