Job summary

UC San Diego Health's East Campus seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide essential respiratory care services in ICU, ER, and on the floor. The role includes humidity and aerosol therapies, lung inflation maneuvers, and pulmonary secretion clearance.

You will monitor patients on ventilatory support, administer medications, perform CPR, and participate in education activities. A valid RRT credential and CA license are required, along with BLS/NRP training within specified timelines.

Qualifications

Two (2) year advanced practice RT education program/AS degree required.
RRT credential from NBRC required.
California RCP license required.
RAT or BLS at hire with plan to obtain RAT within 6 months.
PALS/NRP within 6 months of hire.
Self-directed with ability to work independently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication; professional conduct.

Responsibilities

Administers all general Respiratory Therapy procedures such as humidity and aerosol therapy.
Initiates and monitors patients on continuous ventilatory support; administers medications and performs CPR.
Performs invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques in ICU/ER/floor care areas.
Works independently within ICU, ER, and floor care areas.
Supports department education activities and adheres to policies.
