Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA is seeking a Student Nurse Intern (SNI) under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The SNI assists with basic bedside care and participates in the plan of care while enrolled in an accredited RN program.

Under the KH RN preceptor, the SNI may perform duties after skills are validated, documents care in the EMR, and supports the nursing staff in daily activities and patient safety.

Qualifications

• ASN: Enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 3rd semester.
• BSN: Enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 4th semester.
• License/Certification: BLS preferred; CA CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates and communicates with patient, family, and healthcare providers.
• Assists RN with plan of care and patient needs.
• Performs bedside care under RN supervision; may perform duties after skills validated by nursing program and KH RN preceptor.
• Documents care in EMR promptly after provision of care.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Responds to patient call lights and provides basic patient support when assigned.
